MICHAEL-head.jpg (27104 bytes)Michael D. Freeborn is a trial lawyer based in Chicago, Illinois.  For over 30 years he has been representing companies before judges and juries in state and federal courts.

His practice has been concentrated in six areas -- antitrust, commercial, employment, environmental, product liability and securities litigation.

He is the only lawyer in history to win a jury trial for a company in a "fraud on the market" securities class action, despite evidence that directors and officers of the company were selling shares prior to a disappointing earnings announcement.  Grassi v. Information Resources, Inc., 63 F.3d 596 (7th Cir. 1995).

The defendant's successful use of a "shadow jury" during trial of the case was most recently featured in a front page article of the National Law Journal on May 21, 2001.

He is a founding partner of Freeborn & Peters, one of America's leading law firms to business.  It is a Chicago-based firm with approximately 120 lawyers engaged in practice nationwide --
