State Procedural Rule Could Provide Basis For Dismissal of Removed Action: The Seventh Circuit held that a district court erred in applying federal rules of procedure to pre-removal conduct. Specifically, the Court found that an Illinois procedural rule which provides for dismissal of an action if a plaintiff fails to exercise reasonable diligence to obtain service on a defendant applied to support the dismissal of an action originally brought in Illinois state court.
