William A. Spence, a Senior Counsel at the Firm and Chairman of the China Practice Group, is a featured presenter at the 2008 Northeast Asian Forum on Development, October 27-29, in Shenyang, Liaoning, China. The forum aims at enhancing exchange, expanding cooperation and promoting friendship and harmonious development. In today’s world, regional economic integration has become a trend. In the process of regional integration, the inter-dependence, dialogue & coordination of Northeast Asian countries are being enhanced more than ever.  Regional cooperation networks are being set up. All the above mentioned has laid a solid foundation and provided good conditions for the peace, stability, development and cooperation among Northeast Asian region.  Topics to be covered include:  

  • Regional Cooperation and Integration of Northeast Asia;
  • Economic, Trade and Financial Cooperation and Industrial Division;
  • Economic Structure Adjustment and Sustainable Development;
  • Environmental Protection and Governance, Energy Saving and Pollutant Reduction and;
  • Construction and Development of Cities

The forum is co-organized by Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs and Liaoning Provincial People’s Government.  It is hosted by Shenyang Municipal People’s Government.
