What started as a $38,000 claim and a request from our client to revive an extremely stale judgment from 1996 has ended with a payment of $248,000 and one very happy client. In 2003, the judgment was revived. In 2005, the client requested that we initiate attempts to enforce the judgment. Upon doing so, the judgment debtor unleashed a comprehensive plan to systematically frustrate discovery and avoid attachment of assets. We smelled fraud. Our expert fraud team went to work and discovered the Pot of Gold. On the eve of taking over the judgment debtors personal property and majority stock in a $6MM company, the judgment debtors finally paid.
