CHICAGO – Freeborn & Peters LLP is pleased to announce the continued growth of its Litigation and Intellectual Property practice groups with the additions of Stephen P. Benson and Kimberly A. Beis as new Partners in the Chicago office.

Mr. Benson and Ms. Beis join Freeborn from Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP to further their focus on the service of clients in pharmaceutical, cosmetic and consumer personal care technology industries.

With a background in biology and physics, Mr. Benson focuses his practice on litigation, dispute resolution and counseling in pharmaceutical, health care, cosmetic and consumer personal care technology industries. Mr. Benson is a top litigation partner in his peer group handling complex disputes concerning patented technologies, in particular in the pharmaceutical space.
Mr. Benson holds a Master of Science from Northwestern University and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He obtained his Juris Doctor from DePaul University College of Law.
Ms. Beis has experience with all aspects of civil litigation in state and federal court, particularly as it relates to pharmaceutical patent litigation. With a client-centered approach to her practice, Ms. Beis ensures professionalism, efficiency and innovation in working to achieve the best results for her clients. Ms. Beis also believes strongly in pro bono legal programs, which include her work with the Travelers Assistance Project and organizations assisting individuals seeking asylum.
Ms. Beis received her Juris Doctor (magna cum laude) from Northern Illinois University College of Law and her Bachelor of Arts from Lewis and Clark College.
