Partner, Doug Albritton recently was appointed Vice-Chair of the Business Litigation Committee within the Tort Trial & Insurance Practice Section of the American Bar Association

Partner, Doug Albritton recently was appointed Vice-Chair of the Business Litigation Committee (BLC) within the Tort Trial & Insurance Practice Section (TIPS) of the American Bar Association for the 2006-2007 fiscal year, starting in August 2006.  Within his new role, he will focus on developing and maintaining the committee and the overall section, including planning CLE teleconferences, developing the committee's publications, and generally giving attention to contemporary business litigation issues as guided by the chair of the committee.

The BLC exists to provide a forum for discussion and evaluation of issues relating to business torts, which includes, to name just a few, the theft of trade secrets, the breach of fiduciary duties, violation of covenants not to compete and solicit, and infringement of intellectual property rights, among other areas of business litigation.

TIPS brings together plaintiffs, defense, corporate and in-house counsel to tackle issues confronting the tort, trial and insurance fields of law, including as further relevant to Doug's practice director and officer liability issues, such as the defense of securities and derivative litigation suits against corporate officers and directors.
