Philip Comella and David J. Doyle Elevated to Equity Partner

CHICAGO – Jan. 2, 2018 – Freeborn & Peters LLP is pleased to announce that the firm has elevated attorneys Philip Comella and David J. Doyle to Equity Partner, effective Jan. 1.

“We are pleased to welcome Phil and David to equity partnership at our firm,” said Freeborn Co-Managing Partner Michael J. Kelly. “We congratulate them both on their successes for our clients that have earned them this achievement.”

Leader of Freeborn’s Environmental Law and Toxic Torts Practice Group and a member of the Litigation Practice Group, Mr. Comella focuses his practice on regulatory counseling and environmental-based litigation. With more than three decades of experience in environmental law, and a focus on the solid and hazardous waste industry, he regularly counsels owners and operators of landfills, treatment facilities, recycling operations, and waste generators on compliance and permitting matters arising under environmental laws. He began his legal career as in-house counsel for a major waste management company, where he had responsibility for hazardous and solid waste issues arising across the country.

Mr. Comella earned his J.D. from George Washington University Law School (with honors) and his Bachelor of Arts (cum laude) from Beloit College.

Mr. Doyle focuses his practice on complex litigation as a member of Freeborn’s Litigation Practice Group. He has handled a wide array of commercial cases and examined witnesses in both state and federal courts across the country. He has represented and advised Fortune 500 companies on a broad range of legal issues, including class action defense, auditor and accountant liability, antitrust litigation, fiduciary duty and contract cases, false advertising cases, patent infringement and other intellectual property cases, partnership disputes, defamation, and franchise law.

Mr. Doyle received his J.D. (cum laude) from Northwestern University School of Law and his Bachelor of Arts (magna cum laude) from Kalamazoo College.
