William N. Krucks Inducted Into College of Workers' Compensation Lawyers

As part of an event celebrating the Centennial of Workers' Compensation in America, William N. Krucks, a founding partner of the Firm, was inducted as a fellow of the College of Workers' Compensation Lawyers.  The ceremony was held in Boston, in conjunction with a program sponsored by the Labor and Employment Law Section and the Tort, Trial and Insurance Section of the American Bar Association.  By accepting a Fellowship in the College, Bill affirmed his commitment, "to a life long dedication to the maintenance of the highest standard of professional conduct and scholarly pursuits; absolute integrity with clients, opponents, colleagues, and the bench; to excellence in the presentation of law and fact designed to produce to the trier of fact and the decider of law the most reasoned of result; and to a demeanor which manifests respect for the legal process and its participants."
 
In 1911, 11 states enacted the first workers' compensation laws, implementing the first social reform in United States history.  Born from the ashes of the March 1911 Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire in New York City that claimed the lives of 146 young men and women, mostly immigrant garment workers, the workers' compensation laws today continue to stand as a cornerstone of the American economy.
