Today, we won a decisive victory for our client. Plaintiff's estate brought a wrongful death action against our client seeking millions of dollars and alleging that our client did not provide sufficient security for their employee, who was murdered at one of the client's facilities. Judge Kathy Flanagan granted our motion to dismiss finding that our client did not owe, nor did it voluntarily assume, a duty to plaintiff. Judge Flanagan's opinion mirrored our reasoning (brief) and the cases relied upon by the client. The defense was handled by Rich Sikes, Joe Roddy, Jeanette Dennis and Dan Brown.
