Dave Doyle is a Partner in the Firm's Litigation Practice Group concentrating his practice in the area of Complex Litigation. He also serves as Co-Chair of the Recruiting Committee.

Dave has handled a wide array of commercial cases and examined witnesses in both state and federal courts across the country. He has represented and advised Fortune 500 companies on a broad range of legal issues, including class action defense, auditor and accountant liability, antitrust litigation, fiduciary duty and contract cases, false advertising cases, patent infringement and other intellectual property cases, partnership disputes, defamation, and franchise law.

For the past several years, Dave has served as trial counsel for Grant Thornton LLP in connection with multiple lawsuits that arose from the October 2005 collapse of brokerage firm Refco after fraud was discovered in Refco's financial statements. Those suits included fraud actions brought by customers and investors, as well as a massive tort suit by a litigation trustee appointed in Refco's bankruptcy. Following years of discovery and successful motion practice, the claims in these suits either were dismissed outright or significantly narrowed prior to their resolution.

Dave's trial victories include successfully defending patents on the highest-selling cancer drug (Taxol), obtaining a multimillion dollar award as lead counsel for Abbott Laboratories in a contract dispute, and obtaining a complete defense verdict in a breach of fiduciary duty/corporate opportunities case in which the plaintiffs were seeking over $100 million in damages. Dave also has acted as lead counsel for McDonald's Corporation in franchise disputes and disputes concerning the company's promotional games. He has successfully argued appeals in the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and in the Illinois Appellate Court.
