Matthew Anderson is an Associate in the Litigation Practice Group and focuses his practice on complex commercial matters, including contract, employment, real estate, construction, and business tort litigation. Matt’s prior business experience and education helps him tailor effective solutions to litigation that fit within his client’s overall business model and goals.
Prior to joining Freeborn, Matt was an Associate at Donohue, Brown, Mathewson & Smyth, where he represented clients in complex civil litigation, including professional malpractice, products liability, and employment matters. In addition, he served as an Assistant Public Defender in Will County, where he successfully tried numerous jury and bench trials. Before becoming an attorney, Matt had a career in the software industry, combining artificial intelligence and knowledge management solutions to deploy self-serve customer service solutions.
Matt earned his undergraduate degree from William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri, his Master of Arts from Trinity International University in Deerfield, Illinois, and his M.B.A. and law degree from Loyola University of Chicago. He continues to be involved with Loyola University Chicago School of Law where he is an adjunct professor of trial advocacy.
