93rd Annual International Supply Management Conference

Jeffrey J. Mayer and John T. Shapiro, Partners in the Firm's Litigation Practice Group, will be speaking at “ISM’s 93rd Annual International Supply Chain Management Conference and Educational Exhibit”, in St. Louis, Missouri on the following topics:

“Electronic Information and Supply Chain Document Retention Policies: Practical and Strategical Considerations”

Sunday, May 4, 3:45 - 5:15 p.m.

Virtually all business documents and records are now created and saved in electronic format, and electronic communications and records allow purchasing managers to more readily work and communicate and make deals from remote locations. When disputes arise, proper electronic records and data management may be a boon for companies. But, for unsuspecting companies and purchasing managers who are not properly prepared, electronic records may substantially increase the cost and difficulty of satisfactory dispute resolution. The presenters will examine legal and practical issues with respect to electronic information and data, including document retention/deletion policies, responsibilities for maintaining documents once a dispute is anticipated or arises, and discovery obligations and strategies.

“Avoiding Disputes When Winding Down A Supply Relationship”

Tuesday, May 6, 3:50 - 4:50 p.m.

Terminating a supply relationship often is met with resistance, especially where ending the relationship will be problematic or catastrophic for the opposing party. The presenters address and analyze legal issues related to efforts to terminate a supply relationship, from both sides. The discussion includes assessment of damages that may flow from termination of a supply relationship, and the presentation provides practical tips on how to draft termination provisions, wind down a contract, ensure short-term performance pending a new supply relationship and avoid and/or resolve disputes.

Attend the conference and meet the best and the brightest in supply management. Workshop presenters represent successful practitioners and experts in the field. This is your chance to find out what works, who is best-in-class and how you can gain a competitive advantage.
