Andrew L. Goldstein Talks ".sucks" Domain on Brandmeier Podcast

On June 15, the Chicago Blackhawks won the Stanley Cup in the NHL finals. Well before that, the team registered the domain name "ChicagoBlackhawks.sucks" to help preserve the integrity of its brand and prevent others from erecting their own site at the ".sucks" URL. The Blackhawks are not the only organization applying their trademark to the new ".sucks" generic Top-Level Domain (gTLD). Many well-known brands have taken advantage of the current "sunshine" period that allows trademark owners to register their trademarks with the new gTLD before the public can.

Freeborn attorney Andrew Goldstein, a Partner in the firm's Intellectual Property and Information Technology Practice, spoke with Jonathan Brandmeier, host of The Jonathan Brandmeier Show, about the ".sucks" domain. The interview begins around the 19:30 minute mark.
