Client Alert: US Supreme Court Holds That Copyrights Must Be Registered in Order to Sue for Infringement

On March 4, 2019, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that you must have registered your copyright in the U.S. Copyright Office before you can sue for infringement of the copyright. This Client Alert, written by Partner Andrew Goldstein, details why this ruling makes it important for you to review your intellectual property assets and make sure that you have registered any important copyrights you may own.
