Competition, Crime and Punishment: The Practice, Procedure and Substance of Criminal Competition Law

Partner Jeffery M. Cross will speak at the Canadian Bar Association's National Competition Law Section and the Continuing Legal Education Committee's "Competition, Crime and Punishment: The Practice, Procedure and Substance of Criminal Competition Law" on the topic "Dealing with the Guilty Plea and Beyond" on Tuesday, April 29 from 2:00 - 3:15 p.m.

This session will explore current Canadian and American perspectives on negotiation designed to reduce fines and follow on civil exposure.  This will include a review of recent class proceedings and developments, including damages-related issues, direct and indirect purchaser issues, settlement agreements, joint and several liability and a practical discussion of how to tackle damages calculations.
