Freeborn Partner Jason Stearns Named to 2019 Florida Legal Elite List

TAMPA, Fla. – Freeborn & Peters LLP is pleased to announce that Jason P. Stearns, a partner in the firm’s Tampa office, has been named to Florida Trend magazine’s 2019 Florida Legal Elite list of top attorneys in the state.

A member of Freeborn’s Litigation and Intellectual Property practice groups, Mr. Stearns is listed among the Legal Elite in the area of Intellectual Property.

Now in its 16th year, the Florida Legal Elite recognizes lawyers who “exemplify a standard of excellence in their profession,” according to Florida Trend. The list includes 1,126 lawyers, who represent fewer than 1.3 percent of active Florida Bar members who practice in Florida. The honorees were determined by all in-state members of the Florida Bar who were asked to name attorneys whom they hold in the highest regard or would recommend to others.

Mr. Stearns practices in the area of complex commercial litigation. He has litigated several patent, copyright and trademark infringement claims in federal courts throughout the country. In addition, he represents clients in various industries with regard to contract, fraud, trade secret and other business disputes.

Prior to his law career, Mr. Stearns served in the U.S. Navy as a nuclear propulsion plant operator.
