Freeborn & Peters LLP Adds 3 New Partners

Freeborn & Peters LLP is pleased to announce that Robert J. Sitkowksi, Hillard M. Sterling and C. Edward Watson, II have joined the Firm as partners.

Mr. Robert J. Sitkowski focuses his practice in land use law, with a special emphasis on the legal aspects of smart growth and new urbanism. He has significant legal experience in evaluating, drafting, and implementing zoning and planning regulations, and in representing developers, landowners, municipalities, and advocacy groups in land use matters. In 2002, he was named one of the "New Leaders of the Law" by the Connecticut Law Tribune. Mr. Sitkowski joins Freeborn & Peters from Robinson & Cole LLP™s Land Use Group. Prior to that, Mr. Sitkowski worked as a city attorney and urban planner for local governments in Pennsylvania.

Mr. Hillard M. Sterling focuses his litigation practice in the area of information technology. He assists his clients in disputes involving computer systems implementation projects, outsourcing arrangements, software license agreements, and other technology-related matters. Mr. Sterling also works on complex civil litigation manners in various other areas of law, such as commercial contracts, products liability, antitrust, and employment. In 2004, Mr. Sterling was selected by the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin & Lawyer publications as one of the "Forty Under Forty Illinois Attorneys to Watch," a designation accorded to less than 1% of the state's practicing attorneys. Prior to joining Freeborn & Peters, Mr. Sterling was a partner at Much Shelist Freed Denenberg Ament & Rubenstein P.C.

Mr. C. Edward Watson, II focuses his practice in the areas of government relations and regulatory law, as well as litigation. Prior to joining Freeborn & Peters, Mr. Watson was the Regional Attorney for the Government Affairs organization of the AT&T Corporation in Chicago. While at AT&T, he served as lead counsel in numerous regulatory hearings, negotiated interconnection contracts with local exchange companies, engaged in strategic business planning for arbitration proceedings arising from failed interconnection contract negotiations, drafted and negotiated a variety of legislative proposals, and coordinated legislative efforts on behalf of a variety of matters impacting the businesses of AT&T Corp., AT&T Wireless, and AT&T Broadband in the Central and Southern Regions.
