Freeborn & Peters LLP Selected to Represent the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors of HOBO

Freeborn & Peters LLP has been selected to represent the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors of Morgan Administration, Inc. d/b/a Home Owners Bargain Outlet or “HOBO.”

In this capacity, Freeborn’s Bankruptcy and Financial Restructuring Practice Group, led by Shelly A. DeRousse and Devon J. Eggert, will be advising creditors’ committee in the chapter 11 liquidating bankruptcy cases filed by HOBO in Chicago, Illinois.  The privately held HOBO entities operate seven stores located in Illinois and Wisconsin, which sell value-priced home-improvement goods, including flooring, housewares, furniture, tools, hardware, plumbing supplies, and cabinets.  Prior to filing the bankruptcy cases, HOBO announced plans to go out of business and liquidate the inventory in all seven retail stores.  Freeborn will be advising the committee with respect to that liquidation, among other issues.  Freeborn has one of the most experienced and well respected creditors’ committee practices in middle market commercial bankruptcy cases.
