Freeborn Tampa Partner Robert A. Stines Earns CIPP/US Credential

TAMPA, Fla. – Freeborn & Peters LLP is pleased to announce that Robert A. Stines, a Partner in the firm’s Tampa office and a member of Freeborn’s Emerging Technologies Industry Team, has earned the Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) credential through the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).

“We congratulate Robert on his national certification as a leader on matters involving privacy and data protection matters,” said Michael J. Accredited by the American National Standards Institute, the CIPP is recognized as a leading global privacy and data protection credentialing program. The CIPP/US designates professionals who demonstrate a strong foundation in U.S. private-sector privacy laws and regulations and understanding of the legal requirements for the responsible transfer of sensitive personal data to/from the United States, the European Union, and other jurisdictions.

Also a member of Freeborn’s Litigation Practice Group, Mr. Stines focuses his practice on business litigation, commercial disputes, and professional liability defense. He has litigated contract disputes, products liability claims, legal malpractice lawsuits, unfair trade practices, employment agreements, shareholder disputes, restrictive covenants, healthcare matters, insurance professional malpractice, and business torts. His clients cover a broad scope of industries, including banking, entertainment, healthcare, and insurance.

Mr. Stines previously served as a military intelligence analyst with the U.S. Army. He received his J.D. (magna cum laude) from Stetson University College of Law and his Bachelor of Fine Arts from New York University.
