Freeborn’s Business Continuity Update

At Freeborn, we embrace the five Core Values of Caring, Commitment, Effectiveness, Integrity and Teamwork, both in relation to how we treat every employee, but also in our promise to our clients. Therefore, even during these unprecedented and ever-evolving times of navigating the novel coronavirus, we want to take the time to remind our employees, clients and community that their health and safety comes first, and to communicate our business continuity plan.

While all Freeborn offices remain open and fully operational, we are closely monitoring the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and are taking proactive measures to implement best practices to promote public health. Effective Monday, March 16, 2020, our offices will remain open but will be operating with minimum staff only. Everyone who is not participating in the minimum staff team has been urged to work remotely. Visitor policies, limitations on in-person meetings, social distancing guidelines and self-quarantine rules have also been communicated across the firm. Additionally, we have rescheduled all in-person events and gatherings hosted by the firm for the foreseeable future as we continue to follow guidance from the CDC.

Furthermore, while we represent clients across the world, we have requested our lawyers and staff refrain from international travel for the time being, and only travel domestically when essential. We have the technological bandwidth and capabilities to effectively serve our clients telephonically and via video conference, and all of our internal systems and files can be accessed from a private network offering the same security measures in place within our office, allowing us to securely access our client materials remotely at any time.

We remain committed to our clients, even more so during these uncertain times, and expect that we will be able to continue to provide the level of service and advice that they have come to expect from our firm.

We will continue to monitor recommended health and safety guidance and make further updates here. However, please do not hesitate to reach out to either of us at any time.
