The recent increase to the Illinois income tax rates caused many Illinois–based businesses to examine whether they should relocate their business operations to another state. In fact, several states have produced radio commercials to advertise that they are low-tax rate alternatives. What the commercials fail to mention is that eliminating a business' Illinois income tax costs might not be as simple as moving the business out of Illinois.
