Law360 Covers Freeborn Victory in Insurance Non-Compete Contracts Case

A Superior Court of Pennsylvania appellate panel on Oct. 25 ruled in favor of Freeborn’s clients Edgewood Partners Insurance Center (EPIC) and eight former Wells Fargo Insurance employees, in the case Wells Fargo Insurance Services USA Inc. v. Edgewood Partners Insurance Center et al. The panel ruled that Wells Fargo Insurance Services USA Inc. did not present evidence that rebutted an Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas ruling that the former employees who formed EPIC were innocent of luring Wells Fargo clients with their emails about their plans to form a new brokerage. The employees and EPIC were represented by Steven D. Pearson and Tae Y. Kim, members of Freeborn’s Litigation Practice Group. The ruling concerning the employees’ non-compete contracts was covered in the Law360 article “Ex-Wells Fargo Workers Didn't Poach Clients, Pa. Panel Says,” published Oct. 28, 2019.
