Shapiro Comments on FDA Sanitary Transportation of Human and Animal Food Rule Exemption for Small Companies

The Food and Drug Administration’s recently issued Sanitary Transportation of Human and Animal Food rule exempts shippers, receivers and carriers that are engaged in food-transportation operations that have less than $500,000 in average annual revenue. John Shapiro, a member of the Food Industry Team, comments for a Consumers Digest magazine story on whether small companies might try to fly under the radar of food-safety practices.
