Stines Writes Analysis for Westlaw Journal on Courts’ Treatment of Computer Fraud Insurance

Many fraudulent schemes impacting businesses today involve some form of computer-facilitated communication, and as a result many companies seek protection through coverage under computer fraud or computer crime provisions in insurance policies. In reviewing the outcomes from a few important, insurance-related cases since 2016, Robert A. Stines, a member of the Litigation Practice Group, has analyzed how courts have interpreted computer fraud provisions, identifying the common themes in those decisions, and considering possible implications for applying those themes to emerging technologies. Mr. Stines’ article on this topic, “Computer fraud insurance in the cyberage,” was published July 13, 2018, by Thomson Reuters Westlaw Journal Insurance.
