Four Freeborn Attorneys Recognized as 2022 Florida Super Lawyers

TAMPA – Freeborn & Peters LLP announces that four attorneys in the firm’s Tampa office have been named Super Lawyers and Rising Stars in its 2022 Florida Guide. Lawrence P. Ingram and Jason P. Stearns were named Super Lawyers for Prof. Liability: Defense and IP Litigation, respectively. Christina L. Flatau and Melissa B. Murphy were both named Rising Stars for Business Litigation.

Published by Thomson Reuters, Super Lawyers determines its rankings through independent research, peer nominations and peer evaluations. The Rising Stars list recognizes no more than 2.5 percent of attorneys in each state. To be eligible for inclusion in Rising Stars, a candidate must be either 40 years old or younger, or in practice for 10 years or less. The Super Lawyers lists are published nationwide in Super Lawyers Magazines and in leading city and regional magazines and newspapers across the country. 

Ingram is the Managing Partner of Freeborn's Tampa Office. Larry concentrates his trial practice in professional business disputes involving trade secrets and restrictive covenants, professional liability defense, third-party insurance coverage, qui tam and health care fraud.  Larry has extensive experience in litigation and resulting trials arising from professional business disputes involving restrictive covenant/trade secret cases.  Larry is one of the few attorneys in Florida who has tried restrictive covenant cases to a jury.  In one case he and his team were able to recover damages, exemplary damages, and attorneys’ fees from the breaching parties.

Stearns is a Partner member of the Litigation Practice Group. Jason practices in the area of complex commercial litigation. He has litigated several patent, copyright and trademark infringement claims in federal courts throughout the country. In addition, he also represents clients in various industries with regard to contract, fraud, trade secret and other business disputes.

Flatau is a Partner in the Litigation Practice Group and the Insurance/Reinsurance Industry Team. Christina focuses her practice on business and commercial litigation and has experience litigating a variety of claims including breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, and enforcement of restrictive covenants. She represents a diverse range of clients from large national corporations to small new businesses.

Murphy is a Partner in the Litigation Practice Group and member of the Insurance/Reinsurance Industry Group. Melissa focuses her practice on business and commercial litigation and has experience in litigating breach of fiduciary duty claims, and employment and breach of contract claims including enforcement of non-compete, non-solicitation, and non-disclosure provisions. Melissa has practiced in the area of real property litigation, contracts and indebtedness, and enforcement of restrictive covenants. She has extensive experience working with financial institutions and experience as appellate counsel.
