Freeborn Elevates Ian J. Dankelman and Harry Leipsitz to Partner

CHICAGO – Freeborn & Peters LLP announces that it has promoted Ian J. Dankelman and Harry Leipsitz to partner, effective Jan. 1.

“Ian and Harry excel in their respective practice areas and have made significant contributions to the firm and its clients,” said William E. Russell, Freeborn’s co-managing partner. “We congratulate them on their well-deserved promotions and welcome them to the firm’s partnership.”

Based in the firm’s Tampa office, Dankelman is a member of the litigation practice group and the insurance and reinsurance industry team. He focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation and has experience counseling large commercial clients. He additionally has extensive experience defending and prosecuting breach of contract and commercial tort cases. Dankelman previously served as a judicial law clerk for U.S. District Judge Elizabeth Kovachevich of the Middle District of Florida, and began his legal career as an assistant state attorney in Florida’s Fourth Judicial Circuit.

Dankelman received his undergraduate degree from Florida State University, magna cum laude, and his law degree from the University of Florida Levin College of Law, cum laude.

Based in Freeborn’s Chicago office, Leipsitz is a member of the firm’s real estate practice group. He concentrates his practice in commercial real estate, with an emphasis on acquisitions, dispositions, financing, leasing and development. His experience includes drafting purchase and sales agreements, commercial leases, mortgages, easements and performing title reviews and other due diligence for real estate transactions.

Leipsitz received his undergraduate degree from Florida Atlantic University, cum laude, and his law degree from University of Chicago School of Law, cum laude.
