CHICAGO – Freeborn & Peters LLP is pleased to announce that Salvador A. Carranza, a Partner in the firm’s Chicago office and Litigation Practice Group, has been named by the Hispanic National Bar Association (HNBA) as one of its 2018 Top Lawyers Under 40.
The award honors HNBA members who have demonstrated professional excellence, integrity, leadership, commitment to the Hispanic community and dedication to improving the legal profession. Mr. Carranza was selected from a large pool of highly qualified candidates from across the country and all segments of the legal community. Honorees include those in private practice, government, public interest, academia and corporate legal departments.

Mr. Carranza has represented corporations, businesses and professional firms in matters involving commercial disputes, director and officer litigation, shareholder and derivative disputes, breaches of fiduciary duty, employment agreement disputes, mass tort product liability defense, and a variety of other commercial litigation matters. He focuses on disputes involving private and public companies, shareholders, executives and directors. He also handles all types of product liability defense matters. A Certified Information Privacy Professional/US (International Association of Privacy Professionals), Mr. Carranza also advises businesses on cyber security and data privacy issues.
Separate from his law practice, Mr. Carranza is a member of the board of directors of Reading in Motion, a Chicago-based non-profit focused on getting every student reading at grade level or above in their early years through an innovative curriculum that is taught in both English and Spanish.
Mr. Carranza received his J.D. from the University of Wisconsin Law School and his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
The HNBA is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, national membership organization that represents the interests of Hispanic legal professionals in the United States and its territories.
