Freeborn Elevates Jessica Kirkwood Alley, Katheleen A. Ehrhart and Jeffrey A. Rossman to Equity Partner, Ann M. Zwick to Income Partner

CHICAGO – Freeborn & Peters LLP is pleased to announce that the firm has elevated attorneys Jessica Kirkwood Alley, Katheleen A. Ehrhart and Jeffrey A. Rossman to Equity Partner and attorney Ann M. Zwick to Income Partner, effective January 1, 2022.

Jessica Kirkwood Alley is a member of the Litigation Practice Group and Insurance/Reinsurance Industry Team and is a founding member of the firm’s Tampa office. Jessica has focused her career representing clients in the insurance, legal, and healthcare industries. Her extensive insurance experience includes defending insurance agencies, MGA's, surplus lines brokers, and insurance professionals from errors and omissions claims and more. She also provides counseling to insurers construing insurance policies and has litigated numerous declaratory judgment actions on behalf of domestic and foreign insurers. In addition, Jessica speaks regularly on topics relating to women in the legal field. 

Katheleen A. Ehrhart is a member of the Litigation Practice Group and Insurance/Reinsurance Industry Team and Co-Leader of the Insurance Brokerage Group. She has extensive experience working with executives, senior management and in-house counsel of corporations in managing litigation as well as advising on litigation risks and strategy. Clients also rely on Kathy for her talent in working with experts, in particular with damages modeling, and bringing together the necessary links between mathematics and the law. Kathy participated in the first virtual bench trial in Cook County, and recently ended her term as Co-Chair of the firm’s Women’s Leadership Council.

Jeffrey A. Rossman is a member of the Litigation Practice Group. He has extensive trial and appellate experience and has tried and argued cases in federal and state courts across the country. In addition to his substantial litigation experience, Jeff regularly counsels clients on litigation, tax and regulatory matters across the country, including acting as national counsel for several large eCommerce companies in which he advises and helps direct and implement national strategy. 

Ann M. Zwick is a Partner in the Environment and Energy, and Real Estate Practice Groups. Ann has in-depth knowledge and experience in all aspects of environmental law, with a focus on the solid waste and scrap metal industries and air regulatory matters.  Her previous experience as an attorney with the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency has provided her with invaluable knowledge in representing clients before environmental agencies and governmental bodies, and assisting businesses in a regulated industry. Ann also has considerable experience in land use and zoning matters, and has successfully obtained development and zoning approvals for industrial, commercial and residential developers.
