Law360 Covers RICO Claims Dismissal Court Victory for Freeborn Client

A U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois judge ruled recently that the behavior of a Texas attorney and law firm – and Freeborn client – does not meet the standards to bring Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act claims. The judge dismissed the RICO claims in a proposed class action filed against the attorney and other co-defendants. Freeborn attorneys Darren M.R. VanPuymbrouck, Alexander S. Vesselinovitch and Matthew T. Connelly represent the Texas attorney and firm and helped secure the latest court victory in the case, which was reported in the Law360 article “'Serial Objector' Attys Dodge RICO Claims In Class Action” published Feb. 6.
