Representative Matters

  • Act as “in-house” counsel on behalf of numerous clients in connection with day-to-day intellectual property, marketing and contract issues, including reviewing and drafting supplier agreements, private label agreements and intellectual property agreements.

  • Negotiated companywide ERP systems with providers such as Oracle and SAP for: one of the top 20 life insurance companies; a leading manufacturer of meat snacks; a real estate investment trust (REIT); and, a leading provider of print-on-demand solutions.

  • Negotiated licenses with the Collegiate Licensing Company and CAPS (Coalition to Advance the Protection of Sports Logos, which represents the NHL, NFL, MLB and other leagues) in connection with client’s use of professional team names and colors on its products.

  • Negotiated multiple software licenses on behalf of inventor with multiple MLB teams.

  • Represented buyer in an acquisition of a high tech business.  Identified third-party patent that potentially threatened the seller’s business. Negotiated an escrow to cover cost of potential patent lawsuit.  The client, who obtained a huge business win from the acquisition, in fact was sued for patent infringement. It ultimately funded the entire litigation and settlement with the escrow funds.

  • Represented multi-national client in the sale of their business and facilitated transfer of over 1000 trademarks to purchaser. 

  • Successfully represented coffee roaster and coffee house owner in trademark and copyright litigation with artist, with client obtaining all intellectual property rights to the relevant artwork.
